RSS and Thecar Blog, How it Works

RSS (an acronym for “Rich Site Summary” and later coined “Really Simple Syndication”) is a way for web sites to summarize their content, such as news articles, to make it available in a different view. Often Blog site will have RSS Feed enable.

RSS feeds by themselves don’t do much. If you view one in most browsers, you’ll see the raw XML, which is roughly human-readable, but intended for computer programs. You can take a look at the RSS feed for the changes log of this page to get the idea. A site is enabled for Live Bookmarks when you see this icon on the bottom right corner of the browser. Clicking on the icon and selecting an RSS feed will bring up the Add Bookmark dialog. Select ‘OK’ and you will see Live Bookmarks with the rest of your bookmarks. Many people find it especially convenient to save Live Bookmarks in their Bookmarks Toolbar folder.

So, Why we build TheCar Blog?

When we started to build TheCar site since few months ago, we thought of creating a community place for all members to share info about cars, auto industry and etc. The first thing came to mind was to build a general car forum which hopefully to fullfill this purpose.

After much surfing and researching, we found out that, there are quite a number of Malaysia car club or simply car enthusistic forums exist in this web universe and many of them did offers valuable info (specific car maker forum) to the public. At this stage where Malaysian car community is marching towards maturity, we thought it might be pointless for us to build “just a another car forum” and sharing the same kind of info over and over again. Thus, eventually we came out with this blog which hopefully to contribute something different to the community.

What’s the difference?! Yes, we know content is king. We want to create a different atmostphere in TheCar blog where we can share thoughts from different angles. Perhaps we can talk about car technology, sharing our vision on Malaysia future automotive industry, what’s happening in the industry, some funny thinking or some serious opinion that we wish to make it happen in the car industry.
