Follow “the car” if you don’t know the way

Found out from engadget blog that Microsoft has filed patent on a so call “phantom car” whereby you can follow the virtual car on your windscreen to the destination. Suppose it’s another kind of GPS system which drivers do not need to follow the map-based navigation system, but instead follow the phantom car on the windscreen. You just have to tell the system where you want to go and this “car” will lead the way. Ummm… interesting hur? Wonder how this phantom car react if you happen to stop in front of the red traffic light? Will it be rather dangerous if follow “too close” to the car and simply ignored the road traffic?
