The German automaker Volkswagen AG will open a car distribution company in Malaysia next month, according to a report in the financial weekly The Edge. It was said that the company will be headed by former chief of sales for Volkswagen’s Asia-Pacific market, Axel Barth.
It is expected to grant Quasar Carriage to be its super dealer, which currently distributes VW Skoda range of cars in Malaysia. This news break out just two day after the annoucement by VW that it has scrap plan of future tie up with Proton, a move which send shock to the public.
Looks like VW does have a backup plan in its strategy of entering Malaysia market or probably SEA auto market…
