Proton New Boss Syed Zainal Abidin

PROTON Holdings Bhd yesterday named Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohd Tahir as its managing director and chief executive officer.
The 43-year-old, currently executive director of Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) unit Perodua Auto Corp Sdn Bhd, will be responsible for strengthening Proton to face increased competition from carmakers locally and abroad.
At the same time Zainal First day appointment gived shock to proton investor, by the announcement that it had made a net loss of RM154.33 million in the second quarter ended September 2005. Proton made a net profit of RM198.92 million in the corresponding period of last year.
Not a good sign for proton future… And Is a tough job for new proton boss Zainal to save proton out of the fire…
