Wednesday, the Cabinet agreed to the proposal to raise the minimum age for motorcyclist from 16 to 17, and to immediately suspend a driver’s licence upon committing seven serious traffic offences.
Among the serious offences could lead to the 14-day suspension of a driver’s license are the following:
. Driving in a reckless or dangerous manner to the extent of causing death.
. Beating the traffic light.(no suspension)
. Driving in a careless and inconsiderate manner.
. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
. Driving or in-control of a motor vehicle while the alcohol level in the blood system exceeded the permitted level.
. Driving in excess of 40km/h above the speed limit
(all offences involved both the motorists and motorcyclists)
I totally agree with the moved of the goverment to take stern action on those offended driver. But on the other side, why reduced the summon that needs to be paid by them? No point isn’t it? So, traffic offended can have discount, don’t you think so?
