  What is this guy saying? I’m a Proton-basher, but this is getting too much. How can that person say Proton is manufacturing cars in a jungle cleared place? Okay, Tg. Malim was once a jungle, but hey, wasn’t the entire England also a jungle once upon a time? Duh.

  sometime i just hope that proton will only sell in malaysia and not foreign country.At least i dont feel such embarrassment.How can proton compete with other car manufacturer by producing such low standard and outdated technology car?

  the top gear - jeremy clarkson and the gang - always make fun of the cars that they didn’t like, not just Malaysian cars, but surely mostly Asian-made cars.

  that’s why the programme is so popular
  at least in Britain and Europe..

  com’ on… obviously they will not give the same ‘treatment’ towards Rover and MG and Austin Martin, right?

  nevertheless, if you guys watch the clip carefully (or the whole programme as a whole), people laughed at Savvy because of the comparison to Lotus.. that’s all..

  no big deal..!!

  it was a sad case for Savvy… probably came out at the wrong time (which people used to compare extensively with myvi that launched about the same time) and using the wrong strategy (trying to show ‘toughness’ in a comic catalog and commercial).

  what i really hope to see in Proton is they are serious in taking massive action to improve themself, always look for higher benchmark, build cars that we all proud of, that it can really shut the critics mouth.

  Proton should not at all think of retaliation. Proton indeed should thank Jeremy for saying that Malaysian product is not good enough for international standard. Think of the positive side and make drastic changes to improve the quality. Other cars from Europe for example like Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Citreon etc are not excellent either. But that does not mean that we want to sail along in thier sinking boat. Proud of something does not mean anything….Built the best and prove it to the world. Otherwise limit and use our products in our own country, in our jungle, paddy fields…..Sorry for Dr. Mahathir for not being able to change the entire Malaysian mentality while he was in office. So what do you all Malaysian think he can do for now?

  Proton pull UP your socks!!!!!!!!!!Shame on you..

  The thing is, let us be open about this issue. Those who believe that these guys are “independant experts” are very much naive in thought and maturity. But, one thing is for sure, they are not playing favourites towards British brands. They even went undercover and called one particular Rover car as “disasterous”.

  The only favourites that they have are Ford GT40 (jeremy), Porsche Carrera GT (james) and BMW Z3 (richard).

  You have to watch the show to appreciate their brand of blending humor into car reviews (something that the local car reviewers can never achieve).

  ps. You should refrain from watching Top Gear on ASTRO’s BBC channel. They sliced and cut a 1 hour show (w/out commercials) into less than half an hour (with commercial). Find it on the internet.

  You know why TopGear is alsways criticizing cars. Let me tell you why. It is because it is a Uk programme.And Uk doesn’t have its own car industry. Their last car industry was sold to China but i forgot the name.TopGear criticize other car company’s car in order to direct the atention of the people towards the poor Uk car industry. And why they criticize Proton? It is because Lotus was once a Uk company and it was sold to Proton. That is the reason. One thing to Tiger. Don’t say that Proton uses out-dated technology. You have to understand that Proton Savvy is using AMT which is also used by Smart Fofour. And Smart Fofour bought the AMT from the same company where Proton bought them.
