PROTON Holdings Bhd’s management is committed to improve the company performance after reported a net loss of RM12.4mil for the three months ended June30th, its first in six quarters .Proton said in a statement yesterday that it had drawn up appropriate measures to address issues that contributed to its shortfalls. Management expects and is fully committed to implement these and other measures over the next three quarters….

But Proton didnt give a detail measures how to boost the sales. Proton just said t it would come up with more promotional packages and launch new and spin-off models to defend local market share to compete from his local rivals Perodua and foreign makes like Toyota and Kia.

Proton currently is a Government-linked company that is without a managing director.(Proton CEO Tan Sri Tengku Mahaleel service will not be renew after his contract ended on end Sept.) The outlook of Proton remain unclear with the sales of GEN.2 and Savvy are struggling tough to defend domestic market,(proton car market share has drop from 66% to 40% this year) also selling Gen.2 model in Taiwan and South Africa is much more challenging than the local market.

The conclusion: Proton need to change. Thoroughly change…Better word - RESTRUCTURE the corporation.
