The German automaker Volkswagen AG will open a car distribution company in Malaysia next month, according to a report in the financial weekly The Edge. It was said that the company will be headed by former chief of sales for Volkswagen’s Asia-Pacific market, Axel Barth.
It is expected to grant Quasar Carriage to be its super dealer, which currently distributes VW Skoda range of cars in Malaysia. This news break out just two day after the annoucement by VW that it has scrap plan of future tie up with Proton, a move which send shock to the public.
Looks like VW does have a backup plan in its strategy of entering Malaysia market or probably SEA auto market…

In Bursa Malaysia today:
Proton share price fell as much as RM1.25 to RM5.10 in early trade before it ended the morning session at RM5.65, down 70 sen. There were 4.62 million shares done. Its covered warrants fell 10 sen to 45 sen.
This happen after a day announcement from VW about the termination of tie-up talk with Proton.

News from Reuters reported that Volkswagen has scrapped plan in cooperative with Proton to build and sell VW brand cars for the local market. VW Chief Executive Bernd Pischetsrieder told investors that the different ideas of Proton and VW on the initial cooperative talk has cause them having decided such a move.
So many “unpleasant” news happen to Proton previously and it share prices has been receiving a steady drop since Oct last year.

At the NAIAS 2006 Mercedes-Benz will launching a unique initiative. The manufacturer is unveiling two vehicles that pave the way for an all-new diesel vehicle generation: the E 320 BLUETEC, the Vision GL 320 BLUETEC, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee BLUETEC. Mercedes-Benz has transformed the diesel engine into a clean and future-compatible system. This system is called the BLUETEC.

The first BLUETEC vehicles available in the US will be the E 320 BLUETEC models, expected to launch in autumn 2006.


The GL-Class, a brand new full-size SUV from Mercedes Benz. The company will also presenting the GL 320 BLUETEC. With this latest concept vehicle, the car manufacturer proves that it is possible to combine excellent fuel economy and minimal emissions in every vehicle category, including full-size SUVs. The Vision GL 320 BLUETEC has a V6 diesel engine producing 211 hp. With this performance the expected fuel consumption is 9.4 l/100 km (25 mpg). It is the most economical full-size SUV in the US, offering a fuel saving of between 20 and 40 percent compared to gasoline engines with equal power rating. The E 320 BLUETEC also equipped the same V6 diesel engine, with a fuel consumption of 6,7 l/100 km (35 mpg).

Bluetec is a combination of technologies for passenger cars and light trucks to reduce all relevant emission components. The system for passenger cars includes an oxidizing catalytic converter and a diesel particulate filter, as well as innovative systems for reducing nitrogen oxide emissions. Whether a combination of Denox and a Bluetec catalytic converter, or AdBlue injection with a Bluetec catalytic converter is used will depend on the individual design concept of the vehicle. Regardless of which technical solution is used, Bluetec makes diesel vehicles in every class the cleanest diesels in the world. Bluetec diesel technology for Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles combines highly efficient engines with an exhaust gas treatment system based on selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology. Toyota have a new member from the MPV’s, the F3R Concept. It makes its debut at the North American International Automobile Show (NAIAS) in Detroit January 9. Offering maximum space, efficiency and athletic style is just some of the facts of the F3R. The F3R is a creative, sporty extension of a concept.

The F3R’s exterior featured a tall, wedged body shape that incorporated wide, dynamic shoulders, with its sleek 22-inch wheels and wide performance tires planted at the extreme boundaries of all four corners.


The F3R’s interior is surrounded by a wrap-around backrest formed by the flowing curve of the instrument panel, doors and rear seatback panels. These are accented by fiber-optic lighting panels in the seat sides, and in the F3R’s right-center grand entry, that can be lit to provide illumination during lounge chat session. Up front, the driver’s seat reclines and swivels, and the passenger seat reclines to form a comfortable chaise. Dodge has unveiled the photos of the 2006 Dodge Challenger Concept. The design is regarding to the 1970’s Challenger. Using a 6.1L HEMI engine that produce 425 hp, having iconic front and back end, and chrome-accented interior, we can call this car ‘A muscle car of the futures.’ More details and photo’s after this.

Looking for a new Porsche? Well, there’s a few model that will went into production this year. Have a look with these exotic cars and I guaranteened you will like it.(All source by worldcarfans.com)
The new 911 GT3 , is about to be launched. Featuring centrally-mounted twin exhaust tailpipes. It is expected to have the 3.8-litre engine that can produce 400 hp.

The all new 911 Turbo will produce 460bhp and will go on sale in spring 2006. The car will adopt a new four-wheel drive system that allows power to be fed to the individual wheel with the most grip. The price is almost 130 000 Euros.

The 997 Targa is expected to go on sale in summer 2006. Like previous Targa model, It also has the powered glass roof.

Porsche has finally confirmed that will build a sedan, called the Panamera. The car is expected to went into production in 2009. A 4.5-liter V8 engine will be equipped in this rear wheel drive sedan. Customer will have two choices of the powers- either the340-horsepower version, or the 450-horsepower turbocharged version.

Today news had confirm that BMW Malaysia has appointed Sime Darby Auto Imports Sdn Bhd (SDAI) as their new import partner.
From Jan 1st, SDAI became official importer of BMW CBU cars, motorcycles as well as MINI in Malaysia. Sime Darby Auto Imports is a subsidiary of Sime Darby Group.
