According to NST, new automotive policy will be revelead this month. However, the Prime Minister said that it will not have hefty price changes on imported cars.
Below are some points which illustrated how our new automotive will be priced under the ’supposed’ AFTA policy:
From Jan 1, under Asean Free Trade Area (Afta) arrangements, Malaysia will cut import tariffs on cars to 20 per cent from present levels of as much as 190 per cent.
…
However, Malaysia will likely institute measures to offset revenue loss due to reduced tariffs, such as new taxes and duties.
“Just be patient, you won’t have to wait long,” Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said at the National Economic Outlook 2005 Conference
Among ASEAN country, only Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines have implemented the Afta pact.
No wonder our neighbour - Thailand seems to have a much excited automotive industry. More excited by means of having more choices of imported car compare to us. After many years of hearing about AFTA, well, I just hope that what’s saying by our Prime Minister - we won’t have to wait too long is true…

CLEVER (Compact Low Emission VEhicle for URban Transport) is its name. The three-wheeled, natural gas micro car which uses modified BMW bike engine provides 17.9 horsepower and a maximum torque of 15.5 at 6300 rpm. Other than the very modernize design, its tilting technology is just as amazing. What usually happen to a three-wheeler is that, they were unable to do a fast cornering act. However, this CLEVER machine simply solve the problem using a concept similar to a motorcycle when cornering.

Jacques Villeneuve will line up alongside Nick Heidfeld for the BMW Sauber F1 Team in 2006.
As BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen explained: “We took a close look at Jacques’ performance level at the end of last season. After an extremely tough first half of the year - which showed that even a former World Champion cannot come back after a period away and be competitive from day one - he got closer and closer to his team-mate over the second half of the season. I always fancy about cars which has been design with rich in style and cute at the same time. This car simply fulfilled my requirement.
C-AirPlay is a concept-car of flowing design whose clean body lines and tall, strongly curved features create an impression of agility.

The colours used by C-AirPlay – rarely seen on cars. The iridescent white bodywork is also present inside the car, alongside the bright red used for the cabin.

Nice design on its rear.

Tactile zones in the centre of the front seats include gear controls, the electric window lifts and rearview mirror adjustment. The tactile zones provide a strong reactive sensory interface between the driver and the car.
